Dili, Spektrum-nasional.com||– The Government of Timor-Leste has officially commenced technical negotiations to finalize the draft Special Investment Agreement (AEI) with Tsuneishi Timor Shipbuilding. The meeting was held at TradeInvest Timor-Leste’s meeting room in Colmera, Dili.
The first phase of negotiations is led by the Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste, Mr. Duilio Marino Gusmão Araújo da Silva, accompanied by the Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Roberto Lai. The session also includes the participation of the Commissioner of the Tax Authority (AT), Mr. Nicodemos dos Reis Pereira, and the Commissioner of the Customs Authority, Mr. Joanico Pinto.
During the discussions, relevant stakeholders provided technical input on fiscal and customs incentive aspects, ensuring that the proposed agreement aligns with the current legal framework and reflects national interests.
TradeInvest Timor-Leste also presented its legal perspective on the draft agreement, which will serve as the foundation for cooperation between the Government and the investor. The institution continues to play its role as facilitator and coordinator of the discussions, promoting constructive dialogue and harmonizing state interests with the needs of the investor.
Negotiations will continue in subsequent phases, with the aim of reaching an agreement that contributes to economic development and job creation in Timor-Leste. (**red-
